Likonik grew from a simple observation. Small businesses were making expensive decisions based on instinct while the evidence they needed was sitting unused in their own systems.
A bookkeeper sits down with a client who's worried about cash flow. The client has two years of invoicing records, a full history of late payments, and a detailed breakdown of which services take longest to get paid for. None of it has ever been looked at as a pattern. The bookkeeper adds up the numbers. The patterns stay invisible.
This scene repeats itself constantly across small businesses. The data exists. The tools to read it are already in place. What's missing is the habit of asking the right questions and the knowledge of where to look.
Likonik was set up to fill that gap. Not to sell software. Not to recommend complex analytics platforms. To sit down with business owners, understand how they make decisions, and show them what their existing records can already tell them.
We're based in Manchester because that's where we started, and because the city has an enormous density of independent businesses doing interesting things without the data infrastructure that larger companies take for granted.
"Data literacy isn't about knowing how to code. It's about knowing what questions to ask."
Likonik founding principle
We don't arrive with a pre-built framework and try to fit your business into it. Every audit starts with listening. How do you make decisions now? What do you track, and why? What would you like to know that you currently can't answer?
From there, we work through your data sources systematically. Not every source will be useful. Some will be more valuable than you expect. We document what we find without judgement and focus the report on what's actionable.
We write everything in plain English. No jargon, no charts that need a statistics degree to interpret. If a finding isn't clear enough to act on, it doesn't go in the report.
We don't benefit from recommending any particular tool. Our findings are based entirely on what would help your business, not what earns us a referral fee.
We produce documents you can return to, share with colleagues, and use as a reference. Not presentations that make sense in the room and nowhere else.
We know you're running a business. Our process is designed to ask for as little of your time as possible while still producing findings that are genuinely useful.
If a discovery call reveals that your data situation is already in good shape, we'll tell you. We'd rather be honest than take on work that won't add value.
A discovery call is the natural starting point. No commitment, no sales pressure, just a conversation about your data.
